A light pro-level park scooter
The Type R GT is the lightest pro scooter Root has made, and Root says it is the lightest in the world for its size. It weighs 3kg, with a 5" wide deck and 600mm tall bars, and it sits at the top of the Type R range.
It comes with Root's HMA aluminium bars, Lotus wheels, GT clamp, Fractal grips, AIR headset and a cold-forged one-piece fork.
Type R GT deck
The deck is 5" wide and 19.5" long, a size made for riders working on their park tricks. Root designed it to give as much foot space as it can while staying compact. A triple-channel design and a magnesium-rich 6061 aluminium alloy keep it light without giving up strength.
HMA bars
The bars are made from Root's HMA (Hi-Modulus Alloy). Root says it is as light as regular aluminium but 25% stronger.
Lotus wheels
Lotus wheels come from Root's Honeycore wheels but use a slightly softer PU for extra grip. They are made for indoor skateparks and smooth concrete, where the surface can be slippery, and they keep the speed of the Honeycore.
Fractal grips
Fractal grips use a slow-rebound compound for comfort and shock absorption. The grooves are shaped to move sweat away and keep your hands drier, and the grips are thinner for a stronger hold.
GT clamp
The GT clamp is a small, light design that holds tight with two high-tensile 6mm bolts.
