Scooter Bars

Scooter bars from the brands we ride, in steel, aluminium and titanium. For most riders we recommend the Root Industries Chromolite: a chromoly bar in heights from 570mm to 720mm at a verified best price, in stock all year. Street riders chasing something lighter go Envy Reaper or Root's AIR Titanium, and when NATIVE's Yield and Aria bars are in, they are the bars our own team rides. Not sure on height or compression? The guide below sorts it, or read our Scooter Bars Guide.

How to choose scooter bars

Three things decide the right bar: height, compression and material. Get those right and anything on this page will bolt straight on.

Bar height

Bars should sit around the rider's hip to belly button when standing on the deck. Taller bars feel stable and suit street riding; shorter bars are easier to whip and spin for park. If you are replacing bars, measure the old ones from the bottom of the bar to the top of the crossbar and go the same or a touch taller. Our Scooter Bars Guide has a height chart by rider height.

Compression: SCS, HIC or IHC

Your clamp and fork decide which bars fit. SCS clamps take bars with no slit, in standard or oversized diameter. HIC takes oversized bars with a slit. IHC takes standard-diameter bars with a slit. Every bar on this page says which it suits, and many come in two versions. Look at your current clamp, or message us a photo of it, and we will tell you which to buy. Our Scooter Clamp Guide explains the three systems in plain English.

Steel, aluminium or titanium

Chromoly steel is the strongest and cheapest and what most completes come with; the Root Chromolite, Envy Reaper and Apex Bol are all steel. Aluminium bars like the Grit Elite are lighter but need the right compression and are better suited to park. Titanium is the lightest and strongest of all, which is why the Root AIR Titanium and Unfair FX-1 cost what they do. Most riders upgrading from stock bars are best served by a quality chromoly bar in the right size.

Our picks

  • Root Industries Chromolite S-Bar and T-Bar. Heights from 570mm to 720mm, a colour for every build, chromoly strength and the value pick in the shop.
  • Envy Reaper V3. Envy's signature street bar, in 675mm and 720mm.
  • Apex Bol Bars. Made in Australia on the Gold Coast, in HIC and standard, plus an XL for taller riders.
  • Root Industries AIR Titanium. The lightest way to drop real weight off a build without giving up strength.
  • NATIVE Yield and Aria. Street bars from the NATIVE team in standard and oversized. They sell out fast, so grab them when they are in.

Frequently asked questions

What size scooter bars do I need?

Standing on the deck, the bars should land between your hip and belly button. Street riders usually go a little taller, park riders a little shorter. Our bars guide has a chart matching bar height to rider height, and we are happy to check a size for you before you order.

Will these bars fit my scooter?

If the bar matches your compression system, yes. SCS clamps take slitless bars in standard or oversized diameter, HIC takes oversized slit bars, IHC takes standard slit bars. Each listing states its compression. Send us a photo of your clamp if you are unsure.

What are the best scooter bars for street?

Taller chromoly bars with a slit for HIC or IHC, or slitless for SCS. The Envy Reaper V3 and Root Chromolite T-Bar are the two we recommend most, with the NATIVE Yield and Aria the pick of the street scene when they are in stock.

Are titanium scooter bars worth it?

If weight matters to you, yes. Titanium is lighter than steel and just as strong, so the Root AIR Titanium bars are the single biggest weight saving you can make on a build. If you are on a budget, a chromoly bar in the right size will not hold you back.

Do scooter bars come with grips?

Usually not. Most bars ship bare, so add a set of grips to the same order. Grips are cheap and every pair we sell fits every bar.

Can you cut bars down?

Yes. If the bars you want only come taller than you need, ask us after you order and we will cut them to size before they ship.
