Pacific Pines Skatepark Review (Weka Reserve Skate Park)

Pacific Pines β€” officially the Weka Reserve Skate Park β€” is the brand new concrete park on the northern Gold Coast, and it’s packed. A pool coping bowl, slappy curbs, ledges, an A-frame rail, a triple hip bank, a berm and a mini ramp, with guest clips from Levi Knight in the video above. Use code PACPINES for 10% off storewide.

The rundown

The layout mixes a full street section with a bowl at one end and a mini ramp at the other, so there’s something for every style. The big talking point is height: everything at Pac Pines is built low. That makes it one of the friendliest new parks around for beginners and kids, and a fun, fast park for experienced riders to link long lines β€” Regan gives his honest take on it in the video, along with the one thing he reckons the park is missing.

The bowl

The bowl has proper pool coping and a pocket that makes for plenty of carving lines. It’s not a deep, scary bowl β€” it’s a fun one you can actually learn in.

Slappy curb, ledges and rails

The street section starts with a slappy curb and a long ledge, with steel-edged ledges and a round rail nearby. Then there’s the A-frame rail and a euro gap β€” all at a height that’s easy to commit to.

Triple hip bank, quarters and the berm

The triple hip bank is one of the park’s standout features, and there’s a quarter, a quarter to bank and a bank to bank hip with a kick out ledge to keep your speed flowing. Round the back is a berm with steel coping, another euro gap and an up rail.

Local curbs, flat bars, the redirect ledge and the mini ramp

Out on the edges you’ll find local curbs and flat bars, plus a long redirect ledge, so even the quiet corners of the park are rideable. And at the end there’s a mini ramp for when you want some transition away from the street section.

Amenities and shade

The skatepark sits in Weka Parklands on Binstead Way, with a car park right beside it. The parklands also have toilets, a playground, a picnic shelter and a basketball court, so it’s an easy one for the whole family. Regan covers the shade situation in the verdict β€” on a hot Gold Coast day, go early or late and bring water and sunscreen.

The verdict: 4 out of 5

Pacific Pines is a great new park with heaps of variety, a proper bowl and features that suit every level. Everything being built low won’t be for everyone, but for kids and beginners it’s a big plus. Final score: 4 out of 5. Tell us which skatepark we should review next in the comments on YouTube.
